Heat stimulates the blood circulation, helps to relax the muscles and relieves already pain. It supports both metabolism and transportation of products causing inflammations. The most used applications include warm compresses, baths, Sauna, steaming room, mud packs and heat lamp. Heat should not be applied to inflamed areas.




The main effect of cryotherapy is the relief of pain caused by sports or swelling from other injuries. These are treated with cold packs, cold compresses or ice.
